About Us

Tracy Anderson has owned and operated Melrose Foot Care since March 2012. The business has grown from a single room in Boots Pharmacy in Melrose to clinics in both Melrose and Selkirk, with two treatment rooms at each site.

Our podiatrists are highly skilled healthcare professionals trained to BSc (Hons) degree level and beyond. They diagnose and treat foot and lower-limb conditions, provide specialist advice, and support prevention and rehabilitation.

Our aim is to keep you mobile and active, relieve pain, and treat infections. Some podiatric problems are inherited, while others develop because of systemic illness, ill-fitting footwear, or physical trauma. We can help with any foot concern and support you on your way to walking well and enjoying your favourite activities.

Services

Initial Consultation

At your first appointment, we take a full medical history and carry out a comprehensive vascular, neurological, footwear, and skin assessment. This forms part of your new patient screening.

Biomechanical Assessments

We use footscan® and perform a comprehensive gait analysis to assess your walking pattern dynamically and identify abnormalities that may be contributing to foot or ankle pain. We provide off-the-shelf orthotics, as well as custom PHITS and DynaPrint devices. Insole and orthotic therapy can help with foot pain and musculoskeletal injuries.

General Podiatry

We treat your corn, callus, and nail concerns with both short-term and long-term plans. We offer a range of treatment plans for fungal nail conditions. Your podiatrist will always aim to keep you comfortable and help prevent recurrence.

Verruca Treatment

We provide a comprehensive examination and diagnosis of verrucae. We offer a range of treatment options, including acids, general debridement, and needling under local anaesthetic.

Nail Surgery

Following an initial assessment, we can carry out minor surgery under local anaesthetic to permanently remove damaged and ingrowing toenails.

Diabetic Foot Assessments

Annual and regular neurovascular screening and risk assessment help to prevent diabetes-related foot problems.

Toenail Reconstruction

We offer toenail reconstruction to replace missing toenails and improve the appearance of thickened or damaged nails. We use a range of systems to provide the most suitable option for you.

Medical Pedicure

This soothing treatment is designed to improve skin texture and provide a therapeutic warming sensation for arthritic joints. A warm paraffin wax treatment is applied after full podiatry care, including nail trimming and treatment of corns or callus.
